Bleacher Talk

I saw the potential in Bleacher Talk to reach High School students and help them in their athletic endeavors. I approached Jordan and Claudia and offered to redesign their whole show. They were excited to get a new look. When the show first started, the graphics were rushed and cheap. It has stayed exactly the same for five years. They told me they wanted a fresh new look. They needed something flexible and versatile that still kept High School sports at its heart.

Bleacher Talk is a Sports360AZ show featuring local high school athletics. The hosts, Jordan Spurgeon and Claudia Collins speak with coaches and athletes about how academics and sports come together to set students lives up for long term success.

Old Bleacher Talk key art

I met with Jordan and Claudia and ran them through a strategy workshop where we clarified the foundations of Bleacher Talk. We narrowed down our target audience, and set specific goals for the show. Once we did this, Jordan and Claudia picked out three words that define the feeling of Bleacher Talk.

Playful

Human

Joyful

Strategic Direction

Visual Direction

Jordan and Claudia picked out specific visual elements that they liked and wanted to bring into the new design.

Logo

With the Strategic and Visual Direction in place, I got to work on the logo. I came up with many different options and in the end we found that a bright, tactile logo felt best for the show.

"Tyzic is very detail oriented and thoughtful throughout his entire creative process. He listens to the vision and the dreams of what you and your company or brand are looking for and he matches it flawlessly. He is open to feedback and quick to make adjustments when need be in a way that explains limitations without shutting down ideas that are really out there because he knows that the people behind it really need their vision to be executed. He will do it and exceed your expectations well beyond what you can imagine. So, hire Tyzic."

Visual Identity

With the logo designed and signed off, I expanded it's design philosophy into an entire Visual Identity.

An important element I introduced to the Identity is the 4-point star. It represents the human aspect of Bleacher Talk. The athletes, coaches, parents, and everyone working to prepare these students for the future.

Without this 4-point star, the entire Visual Identity was incomplete.

Though I don't consider myself a Motion Designer, I suppose I should after this project. I animated every asset of the show. Transitions, nameplates, rejoiners, the intro sequence and more were all created from scratch.

Show Rejoiner

For all animated graphics, I created procedural systems that let me generate any number of animation variations simply by adjusting a few parameters.

"Tyzic worked with us on a complete rebrand for a television show I host, redesigning every graphic element from the show opener and bumpers to lower thirds and additional graphics. He also proactively developed new creative elements that he felt would elevate the overall look and feel of the show.

From the beginning, Tyzic took the time to understand where the show was creatively and where we wanted to take it with our new direction. He was thoughtful, collaborative, and incredibly receptive to our vision while also bringing his own expertise and ideas to the project.

The final product exceeded our expectations. Everything was delivered polished and production-ready, with no need for revisions or adjustments. Our entire team was thrilled with the result and with the experience of working with Tyzic.

I would highly recommend Tyzic for any creative or design project, and I look forward to continuing to work with him on future projects.

-Claudia Collins

The new Identity for Bleacher Talk provides the flexibility and versatility they need to grow the show. A unified visual language can keep every new asset easy to design and on-brand. They now have room to place sponsors on the show and inspire many more High School athletes.
